Severn River Crossing
There has been a road link across the River Severn since 1966 allowing for easy passage between Wales and England. As the level of traffic increased, the original Crossing was no longer able to cope with the congestion efficiently. Planning work on a second Crossing commenced in 1986 to investigate the best location, and the layout of the new approach roads. Work on the new Crossing began in 1992, and was completed in 1996.
